March 2024

The new Lakeland Forum and Park is set to become a beacon of health and wellbeing, driving community engagement, physical activity, and healthy living. Designed to be welcoming and open, the facility maximises transparency and indoor-outdoor connections, creating a harmonious blend of architecture and landscape.

Visionary Design: The Lakeland Forum and Park aims to create a positive impact on the landscape while fostering a sense of community and place. The facility will embrace stunning river views, seamlessly integrating inside and outside spaces to enhance connectivity to the water. This design not only elevates the aesthetic appeal but also boosts the local tourism offer.

A True Community Asset: Designed to be a true community hub, the Lakeland Forum and Park will offer activities for everyone, regardless of age or ability. This inclusivity will be achieved through a diverse range of cultural, social, and sports opportunities, complemented by a thoughtfully designed play park and a strategic events programme to deeply engage the community.

Sustainability and Innovation: In a pioneering move, the building will achieve Passivhaus certification, placing it among a select few centres globally to meet this rigorous standard. This certification ensures the highest levels of sustainability, low energy consumption, and visitor comfort.

The Lakeland Forum and Park is a transformative project that blends innovative design, sustainability, and community focus. This welcoming, inclusive, and eco-friendly facility will inspire healthy living and foster community connection, setting new standards for public health amenities. Passivhaus Certification will benchmark sustainability and energy efficiency, ensuring minimal energy consumption and adaptability to future climate conditions. Additionally, the facility prioritizes visitor wellbeing with high-quality design that enhances usability to promote user interaction.
